How do emeriti obtain a UNIcard?
Former employees who have been granted emeritus status and do not yet have a UNIcard can apply for one from the relevant department. The responsible office of the department then orders the UNIcard with the subject "UNIcard for emeritus" by e-mail from the Security & Safety Technology Team (formerly UNIcard Team). It is important that a photo is attached to the mail according to photo standards.
Continue to use the UNicard after retirement.
Employees who become emeritus can continue to use the UNIcard as emeritus. The functionalities are the same as those of an employee.
It is important that the mutation to emeritus is reported to the Security & Safety Technology Team (formerly UNIcard Team) in good time. If the change to emeritus is not reported before the expiration of the last valid employment contract, the UNIcard is automatically blocked and must be unblocked by the ITS ServiceDesk after the mutation.
