UNIcard loss / replacement
UNIcard lost?
In case of loss, the UNIcard must be locked at Uni Basel Viaweb or at Secanda Website to protect against misuse. The service is available 24/7.
How do I receive a replacement card?
You can pick up a new card personally at the ServiceDesk. This costs 25 CHF and can be payed with card or twint. Please bring a valid ID card. Your UNIcard will be printed when you are at the ServiceDesk.
It is also possible to send a replacement card by post to your registered address. For this we would deduct 25 CHF from your cashless credit, further information on recharging your UNIcard can be found in the following link load UNIcard. Please note that the cashless balance is stored in the central system and not on the physical UNIcard. Therefore, you can recharge your balance independently of the physical card.
What should I do if I receive a replacement card and then find the card I thought was lost?
If the new card has already been issued, the old card will be invalid. It should be destroyed.
What happens if I block the UNIcard, but then find it later?
If you have blocked your UNIcard but a new one has not yet been issued, then the ServiceDesk can unblock your original card. In order to do this, the card holder must contact the ITS Service Desk.
